About the Role
The Production Technician supports Wellumio's manufacturing and production function with a dual remit: hands-on production activities and purchasing/procurement coordination. As the team scales towards clinical device production and eventual commercial manufacturing, this role provides operational backbone for build, supply, and inventory management. Employment type will be confirmed based on funding position and production ramp requirements at time of hire.

Diploma or degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent

2+ years in a production, technician, or purchasing role in a manufacturing environment

Experience in or adjacent to a quality-managed or regulated environment preferred

Practical understanding of procurement processes: POs, GRNs, and supplier correspondence
Technical Capabilities

Basic electronics or mechanical assembly skills

Purchasing or ERP system experience; strong spreadsheet skills in absence of a system

Familiarity with incoming inspection procedures and non-conformance documentation

Clear written communication for supplier and vendor correspondence

Key Responsibilities
Working in partnership with relevant departments, you will:
Production & Assembly

Perform device assembly, sub-assembly, and production builds following documented work instructions

Complete build records and production travellers accurately for every unit built

Identify and escalate non-conformances; participate in root cause investigations when required

Maintain production area in clean, organised, and ESD-safe condition at all times
Purchasing & Procurement Coordination

Raise and track purchase orders for components, materials, and consumables
-
Follow up with suppliers on delivery status, shortages, and lead time changes
-
Perform incoming goods receipt: verify against POs, execute incoming inspection, and log results

Maintain accurate inventory records and flag shortages to the manufacturing lead proactively
Supplier & Vendor Coordination

Communicate with suppliers on order status, technical queries, and non-conformances
-
Support supplier qualification activities with documentation and sample coordination
-
Maintain preferred supplier list and purchase history records
Quality & Compliance Support

Follow QMS procedures for production, inspection, and non-conformance handling

Maintain production records consistent with ISO 13485 requirements
-
Support audit preparation by ensuring all production records are complete and accessible
Logistics & Inventory Management

Manage component and consumable stock levels, triggering reorders at agreed minimum levels
-
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments: packaging, freight, and customs documentation as required

Maintain calibration records for production equipment and test fixtures
