WERNEUCHEN, GERMANY & MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

MEYTEC, a leader in telemedicine and mobile emergency care technologies, and Wellumio, an innovative medical device company specialising in portable neuroimaging, are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on advancing stroke diagnosis and care delivery.

This strategic partnership aims to explore the integration of Wellumio’s Axana® portable MRI system with MEYTEC’s pre-hospital and in-hospital telemedicine platforms, enabling faster, more accurate stroke diagnostics in emergency settings—including ambulances and rural hospitals.

With stroke remaining a leading cause of disability and death globally, the ability to perform high-quality brain imaging at the point of care is transformative.

Wellumio’s lightweight Axana® system provides rapid bedside neuroimaging capable of detecting strokes within minutes. Combined with MEYTEC’s real-time teleconsultation infrastructure, this partnership has the potential to overcome traditional barriers in stroke pathways—particularly in underserved and remote areas.

“We are excited to partner with MEYTEC, whose legacy in telemedicine aligns with our mission of decentralising neuroimaging,” said Shiek Tzeng, Co-founder and CEO of Wellumio. “Together, we aim to deliver accessible, safe, and proven imaging solutions fit for tomorrow’s clinical environments.”

“In Wellumio, we see a like-minded partner with a shared vision to rethink the stroke diagnosis paradigm,” said Gerhard W. Meyer, Founder and CEO of MEYTEC. “This partnership is an opportunity to merge our technological strengths to enable leaner, more effective stroke care that meets the needs of modern health systems.”

The MoU outlines collaboration in evaluating integrated technical pathways, regulatory strategies, and commercial deployment models across Europe and Australasia. The partnership will also explore novel supply models, clinical validation frameworks, and shared R&D initiatives to bring the combined solution to market.
